Agents of the State
Agent Vicki Kahn is on her first foreign mission for the South African government, on the trail of an international child-trafficker. A complication that she doesn't need is that the President's son is somewhere in the mix. And when Vicki finds her ex-GDR-spook contact on the kitchen floor with a hole in the head, all her instincts tell her to get out. But her handlers have her on a tight leash, and getting out is not an option. Vicki‰ۡó»s lover, PI 'Fish' Pescado, is working another case. Find out who shot my husband, is his brief. The husband: a rebel colonel from the Central African Republic taken down in a spray of bullets on the steps of St George‰ۡó»s Cathedral. As Fish digs he comes up against a local connection: none other than the South African president. Drop the case, he‰ۡó»s warned. Go surfing and take your girlfriend Vicki Kahn with you before it‰ۡó»s too late.
