Following the success of the “Maye Maye!!” walkabout with author Dr. Sipho Sithole, Bridge Books will be offering a monthly tour to the Kwa Mai Mai market. A heritage site that has homed rural migrants for over 120 years in downtown Johannesburg. This tour will afford participants with an experience of the evolution of this market and its people. As a hub for cultural identity in the concrete jungle the tour is sure to educate while extending the legacy of the market for participants to engage with the commune through local cuisine, cultural regalia and indigenous knowledge systems that circulate through the corridors of the commune

We will leave from Bridge Books and head to Kwa Mai Mai where we will get to sample the food. Traditional beverages will be sold at the market.
