Carla Fibla García-Sala reported from Commissioner Street for the Spanish magazine Mundo Negro, on how second-hand books came to dominate Johannesburg's literary market.

"En Bridge Books, el 75 % de los títulos son de autores africanos, y la sección de ficción internacional está apartada en una esquina."

 

At Bridge Books, 75% of the titles are by African authors, and the international fiction section is tucked away in a corner.

"«Esta ciudad está llena de gente lista y creativa a la que le gusta leer», concluye Shea."
