Surely among the most lovable of all Dr. Seuss creations, Horton the Elephant represents kindness, trustworthiness, and perseverance - all wrapped up, thank goodness, in a comical and even absurd package.

Horton hears a cry for help from a speck of dust, and spends much of the book trying to protect the infinitesimal creatures who live on it from the derision and trickery of other animals, who think their elephant friend has gone quite nutty.

Horton

Horton hears a who follows the tale of Horton, who is an elephant, who can hear an entire world of people living on a flower. The story teaches some very important lessons such as, you should always help your friend, that all people deserve to be treated equally no matter what, and that you should always help people in need. I remember reading this as a child and being so scared that Horton wouldn’t be able to save all those people. I hope to read this to my own children one day.

A childhood favourite.

This has always been one of my favourite books since I was a child. A big talking, overdramatic but goodhearted elephant instantly captured my heart. I just want to read more about Horton and his interactions with the Who’s. I like how Dr. Seuss uses of the interaction between the micro and macro universe to tell a story. If you haven't read the book, I would recommend that you do as it's a must read!

So sweet!

Seuss in Horton hears a who tells such a lovely and compelling story in the most absurd context, mostly set on a speck of dust, to teach about the importance of belief in yourself and protecting those who can't protect themselves, kindness for all, and how much your kindness can benefit others. despite numerous trials and tribulations horton never gives up, and this aims to teach the readers to do the same
