Two books took me FOREVER to finish in the previous few years. The first was "Darwin's Dangerous Idea" by Daniel Dennett, and the second was "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Kahneman. What led to this? What features do they share? Both volumes are the most intellectually satisfying reading I've ever done in my adult life since they thoroughly explain basic ideas with enormously broad ramifications.
