Pride and Prejudice is a classic love story written by Jane Austen. The story follows Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy as they both must overcome internal struggles to be able to fall in love with one another. I wasn’t a very big fan of Mr. Darcy as I felt at times, that he felt Elizabeth had to marry him just because he had feelings for her and was finally ready to admit it, with no regard if she felt the same or not. But in the end, she was also able to overcome her pride and they got married.
A classic ‘enemies to lovers’ novel written elegantly and sophisticatedly by Jane Austin. The romance and tension work hand-in-hand in creating a captivating atmosphere that will have you reading for hours. The subtle yet impactful development of Mr Darcy’s character throughout the novel shows how strong his repressed feelings become for Miss Elizabeth Bennet, and makes you as the reader long for the relationship the two of them have. The additions in this version (addendums, explanations etc) only serve to make the story richer
The book is a bit hard to read because of the language used for younger people. Jane Austen has a talent for writing. The book is amazing and there are not enough words in the English Dictionary to describe how amazing. The book grows on you the more you read it and trust me after the first read, you will re-read it.
Please don't hesitate to read one of the best books ever written. Simply pick up a copy of this book and immerse yourself in this captivating novel that immediately builds an emotional connection.
Well, the first time I read it I thought, ‘really? Another story about a rude male and a naïve female infatuated with him?” And I thought there were enough of those novels already written but the annotated version gave more context to the novel, and I learned to appreciate the character development of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth although I still feel like Elizabeth should have just given Mr. Darcy the boot… well worth a read.
