Zandile, the Resolute, by Dudu Busani-Dube

In case the first book (Hlomu the wife by Dudu Busani Dube) left you with some questions, one of which I guess would be since the quote says “Behind a successful man, there is a woman”, who is the woman behind Nkosana’s success?

This question is answered in this book. I love how Dudu Busani Dube doesn’t make relationships seem perfect with a touch of squabbles here and there, but she explores the dynamics of real relationships where two people are working hard to keep loving one another.

Zandile is my favourite book of the series . I love Zandile the charecter for standing her ground and knowing her strengths without totally succumbing to her weaknesses. Of all the girls, she's the one who seems to know when to push and when to fall back. Controlling & intimidating as Nkosana gets, Zandile knows how to manage him without wreaking havoc in her home. She's smart.

I would've loved to see her shown more respect, and more consideration. She is, after all, the one who knows them far more than most. Yes, Hlomu has seen them through tough times, and stood by them. But, Zah showed loyalty before they had anything. She loved them when it was inconvenient and dangerous. Hell, she showed them she's up to the task when it comes to protecting her family, and paid dearly. I find it a bit frustrating that they feel a need to keep her out of the loop even when they bring Hlomu in.
She's much tougher than they give her credit for, and deserves her dues

Great book full of drama and suspense!

Nkosana epitomizes what a big brother should be like. He serves and protects his family at whatever cost. This book showed us what he is like as a lover/boyfriend/husband and it surpassed all my expectations. Zandile is an excellently written character who fits perfectly with Nkosana. Their journey is far from perfect but is definitely one that comes once-in-a-lifetime. Love them so much.

Zandile the resolute, the second book of the Hlomu series is such a fantastic read. We get introduced to the woman who holds Nkosana's heart. Zandile is indeed a resolute in following her dreams and being with the man she loved. Her qualities are alike to Hlomu's in the sense that they both left their families in pursuit of happiness and love. They became the pillars of the Zulu family and the backbone of their husbands. Zandile is so fearless and is the perfect partner for Nkosana.
