It gives the reader tools on how to identify signs of abuse early in a relationship, and how to get professional and safe help sooner.The author was helped by POWA just on time. Lindiwe was born into a big family with strong Christian values. She married her high school sweetheart straight after matric. Her honeymoon stage was quickly replaced by slaps and blows from her dear husband. Before she knew it, she was trapped in an abusive marriage. Her husband owned a gun and often threatened to kill her parents should she tell of her ordeal. She did the only thing she knew how - fasting and prayer. Her journey with the Lord during 14 years of abuse showed her the faithfulness of God and kept her alive.
