A Littoral Zone, by Douglas Livingstone

By: Douglas Livingstone. Published in 1991, this poetry collection was written by Livingstone during his career as a marine biologist working alongside scientists at a South African water research institute, and reflects on humanity's fraught relationship with the natural world. Livingstone (1932-1996) was a South African poet and scientist based in Durban, and the University of Natal awarded him separate doctorates recognising both his scientific and his poetic work.
