Akhona's Journey

The Lulibo Project, founded in 2015 by Ongeziwe Badli and Pharie Sefali in Nyanga, Cape Town, is a community organisation "dedicated to creating safe spaces, fostering opportunities, and challenging harmful norms for women and marginalized groups."

Akhona's Journey was written "as an educational tool to spark conversations, raise awareness, and inspire change in communities deeply affected by systemic challenges such as poverty, gender-based violence, and lack of access to justice ... the story captures the lived experiences of countless girls who navigate these struggles with incredible resilience" from the Lulibo Project website
