Hammering Swords into Ploughshares: Essays in Honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, edited by Buti Tlhagale and Itumeleng J. Mosala (used)
This collection of essays is in honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the 1984 Nobel Peace laureate, a relentless champion for justice whose name has come to symbolize the inevitable downfall of the Apartheid system.
The essays disclose the tension that exists in the South African situation. As resistance to the Apartheid system assumes new forms of violence it has equally become imperative to discuss the signs of hope, and the meaning of genuine reconciliation if a new South Africa is to be built.
These essays are a reflection of the growing impatience with the injustice perpetrated by those who claim to be Christians.
They are presented not just as an analysis of the wrongs of society but also as a challenge to those who are committed to putting an end to man's inhumanity to man. They are an appeal not only to the mind but also to the heart.
Condition: slightly worn but in good shape overall
