By (author): Sindiwe Magona. By (author): Nina G. This 2018 South African children's book by writer Sindiwe Magona and biological anthropologist Nina Jablonski follows a diverse group of schoolkids — Njabulo, Aisha, Tim, Chris, and Roshni — who gather at Uncle Joshua's junkyard for a recycling project. Njabulo, self-conscious about his dark skin and wishing he could change it like a chameleon, is guided by Uncle Joshua through the actual biology of skin colour, debunking myths that link it to intelligence or worth. It was distributed free to South African schools in the country's official languages, with support from the Babylonstoren Foundation.
