Miss Garnet's Angel, by Salley Vickers (Used)

By (author): Salley Vickers.

After the death of her lifelong friend, Julia Garnet, a retired schoolteacher with firm opinions and a quiet life, takes a flat in Venice for the winter. There she becomes absorbed in the apocryphal story of young Tobias and his journey with the angel Raphael, told on the walls of a little church. Woven alongside Julia's own late awakening, the old tale and the new one echo each other in this gentle, much-loved debut about love, faith and second chances.
