This is not a John LeCarre type of novel, actually is an autobiography of Mr. Eppler at the time he was working for the Germans during the second world war. Nevertheless, it is very entertaining and achieves the purpose of showing the more less mundane world in which a spy moves, rather that the high trills and intense adventure in which these characters are portrayed by Hollywood. On the other hand, he clearly acknowledges that his services to Rommel were basically useless, so the title is really a merchandising tool, since if it have read "My Life as a Spy" by John W. Eppler, its chances of selling more that 10 books were severely limited.
