In this unusual yet well-known plot, Mhlongo makes it simple for the reader to become a part of the lives of the characters as the writer had written the book so the reader can imagine what it's like to live in the black community every day. A book that also addresses the pressures we have as young adults just out of college to please the community, even if it means lying about our accomplishments or failures.
