Leaves to a tree: English alive and beyond

Published to mark the 50th anniversary of the (Western Cape) South African Council for English Education, this anthology edited by Robin Malan is a companion/successor to the long-running "English Alive" series, which since 1967 has showcased creative writing by South African school students. It gathers South African poetry and prose as "a celebration of writing in South Africa," continuing Malan's decades-long project of giving young writers their first publication.
