Bryan has been in the financial service industry for close on 40 years. His area of expertise extends to estate, tax, investment and retirement planning for individuals. On the corporate side, Bryan advises companies on retirement funds as well as health programmes. Bryan advises many leading business people on how their investments should be structured on a global basis.

Bryan started his career at Legal and General in South Africa and London and when he returned to South Africa in 1967 he joined Liberty Life where he stayed until 1975 when he and a few colleagues went into partnership with J H Isaacs in a joint company: J H Isaacs, Pope, Lutrin and Hirsch Insurance Brokers. In 1976 he was appointed Managing Director. In 1987 he was instrumental in merging the company with Pride Planning, and the combined business was listed on the JSE. After the market crash, Bryan de-listed the company and sold out in 1997 when his partners wanted to go public again. During the 1990s Pride went into partnership with Stock-Brokers Frankel Pollak in a joint company: Frankel Pollak Pride Financial Services. When Bryan sold Pride, the joint venture between Frankel Pollak and himself, he sold to Society Generale and subsequently to Sasfin. Bryan remained Managing Director of the various entities. In 2002 Bryan was appointed CEO of Pioneer Financial Planning, which is part of the Pioneer International Group. Bryan sits on the board of the international company.
