Vukani Makhosikazi: South African Women Speak, by Jane Barrett, Aneene Dawber, Barbara Klugman, Ingrid Obery, Jennifer Shindler and Joanne Yawitch (used)

Second-hand copy — condition: good.

Vukani Makhosikazi reflects the lives of African working-class women under apartheid: women in suffering and struggle, living in the cities of South Africa and in the Bantustans. Their lives are controlled by the pass and other apartheid laws and institutions, but above all by the fact of being women, African and working class. A collectively written book on the social and economic conditions and the employment of Black women in South Africa in the 1980s.
