The protagonists are people who are trying to find a method to free Africa as a whole from the oppression that affects both Africans on the continent and in the diaspora on a cultural, economic, and spiritual level. It includes the voice of an African American at one point, the voices of South African youth searching for a spiritual home, the voices of women from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and the voices of older spiritualists who believe in the fundamentals and the connection to environment and ancestors.
