Born from humble beginnings and the son of a farm labourer parents at Bokfontein near Brits in the North-west province, Advocate Simon Molathwe Shaba SC did not allow himself to be overwhelmed and subdued by abject poverty, exploitation, oppression, brutality and deprivation that confronted him growing up during the dark days of apartheid. His resilience, hard work and determination to succeed throughout his childhood, schooling and university - including his professional careers in both education and legal fields- enabled him to turn all obstacles and challenges that confronted him into opportunities to succeed. The life story of Advocate Shaba SC bears testimony to the fact that no matter who you are and where you come from, if you have a vision in life, all it takes to accomplish your vision and realize your dreams is to tackle challenges one step at a time.
