A State of Fear (Used)

The debut novel of South African writer Menán du Plessis, first published in 1983 by David Philip (reissued by Pandora Press in 1987), it won the 1985 Olive Schreiner Prize and was joint winner of the 1986 Sanlam Literary Prize. Set during the 1980 Cape Town schools boycotts, it follows white teacher Anna Rossouw as she shelters two of her Black students from arrest.
