Abstract South African Art from the Isolation Years: Volume 3 (Used)

Considering the largely negative attitudes towards abstract art that have prevailed in South Africa since the mid-1980s, it has in recent years attracted some attention and scholarship, both in its original modernist and contemporary manifestations. The two exhibitions organised  by the Stellenbosch Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery in 2007 and 2008, as well as the two volumes; Abstract Art from the Isolation Years, contributed substantially to the documentation and revision of a specific and neglected period of South African art history. The current exhibition and publication will further advance the knowledge and appreciation of abstract South African art.
