Between Us: A Soft Archive of Queer Photography in South Africa, produced by House of Invade

Between Us is a collaborative photography publication produced by House of INVADE- featuring
five South African photographers whose practices engage queerness, memory, identity,
vulnerability and belonging. Moving across townships, cities and rural landscapes, the
publication gathers images and conversations that resist singular narratives of Black queer life.
Through portraiture, collage, self-documentation, and experimentation, Between Us becomes a
soft archive of how new ways of being are imagined, negotiated, and lived in contemporary
South Africa.
