THIS COLLECTION arises out of the work of a creative writing group established by Lionel Abrahams in the 1970s. Its membership has changed over the years, but the spirit of mutual encouragement and mentorship has grown and still flourishes. Whether inspired by a moth or a silver bead. whether set in Orange Farm or on the island of Cyprus, the stories and poems from these writers breathe of their own country and their own experiences.

A collection of poems, stories and sketches as ruried as the lives and minds of the author. Some pieces are snatched rough-heun from the writer's imagination, others an as well turned as a river stone. All testify to the direeny and vitality of current South African literature.
