In a groundbreaking new anthology edited by Algerian researcher, Raouf Farrah, and South African writer, Suraya Dadoo, contributors from Western Sahara, Sudan, the DRC, Namibia, Algeria, Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa come together with Palestinians from across the political spectrum and resistance movements.
Together, they expose the global system that renders both Palestinian and African futures disposable — granting impunity to those who bomb with Western weapons and shield atrocities through diplomatic and economic power.
Through short, powerful chapters, the book explores the intertwined histories of genocide, apartheid, and colonialism in Palestine and across Africa, with particular attention to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, its direct resonances with present-day Western Sahara, Sudan, and the DRC, and past liberation struggles in Namibia, Kenya, Algeria, and beyond.
The contributors argue that the colonial violence experienced by African peoples throughout history, and the genocide in Palestine today, are not isolated phenomena, but manifestations of a shared and interconnected imperial order.
This book is the first of its kind in bringing these histories into direct conversation. While much has been written on decolonisation, few works have examined - with such depth - these entangled histories and shared strategies of resistance. This is both a call to action and a contribution to building shared political strategy between Africans and Palestinians.
