The Cancer Years (Used)

This posthumous collection covers the period of the poet's five-year fight against breast cancer. These poems constitute an extended and quietly modulated meditation - a shift in poetic consciousness towards the acceptance of anticipated death. Mystical, spiritual, inspiring and completely devoid of bitterness, the poems are also beautifully and musically written with a poignancy that transcends sentimentality and hopelessness.

Shortly before dying, Lynne Bryer gave the completed manuscript to her friend, Hilary Reynolds. It was clear that the collection was arranged for publication and the order of the poems as well as the sub-sections have been fully respected.
