Threshold, by Sheila Fugard

Sheila Fugard was born in Birmingham, England 1 and came to South Africa at the age of five. Studied speech and drama at the University of Cape Town. Married to playwright Athol Fugard and has one daughter. Her novel The Castaways won the CNA Literary Award in 1972 and the Olive Schreiner Prize for Prose in 1973. Her poems have appeared in many literary journals; Threshold is her first book of poetry.
